A New Work in Culpeper, VA

Culpeper is a community undergoing tremendous change.  Located 45 minutes northeast of Charlottesville and 90 minutes southwest of Washington D.C., is is no longer a sleepy old Virginia town of interest only to its residents and Civil War buffs.  This small town is being transformed from a quaint rural town into one of the fastest growing communities that Virginia has seen in the past few years.  This rapid growth has surprised Culpeper residents, as the north side of the town in particular has seen new residents from Washington D.C., trying to trade Capitol Hill living for small town warmth.

It is in the midst of this growth that a small group of Christians in Culpeper began praying for a new church.  They brought their need to the Blue Ridge Presbytery who in turn began working on plans to plant a church in Culpeper.  In December, 2008 the Blue Ridge Presbytery called Joe Holland to be the church planter to Culpeper.

The group in Culpeper, the Blue Ridge Presbytery, and Joe are just the beginning of a team that our Lord is building to see a church planted in this growing community.  As you take a look around this site ask yourself the question, “Is the Lord calling me to be a part of the team in Culpeper either through prayer or financial support?”

To God be the glory in the gospel of his Son, Jesus Christ, now and forevermore!

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself”
